Building production systems that scale.
I'm a Senior Software Developer with 7+ years' experience building event-driven, production systems across retail and enterprise settings.
I specialise in distributed messaging and .NET microservices on Azure, with a strong eye for performance, observability, and clean system design. I hold an MSc in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence from Newcastle University (Distinction), which informs my approach to building intelligent, data-driven systems, from ML-powered recommendation engines to real-time analytics pipelines.

Kitchen Management System
A unified kitchen management system that handles in-store and digital oridering channels running on Linux and Kubernetes across Greggs stores. I re-architected the backend and infrastructure of the cloud and edge computing and re-assessed cloud messaging by introducing data streaming that suports persistence which reduced missing orders up to 98% in the Greggs estates and implemented websocket, a trading backend and edge sidecar to replace continuous polling over the internet and menu data availability regardless of poor internet connection in store.

Greggs Kiosk
Customer-facing self-service kiosk running on Linux across Greggs stores. I joined as one of the first developers, shaped the early prototype, and led development of reusable order-sharing, loyalty and promotions packages which are now adopted by POS and drive-through teams.

Greggs Website
Full-stack development on greggs.co.uk ranging from Click & Collect, gift cards, account management, checkout and CMS-driven contents. I also led the implementation of secure mobile number change in .NET, Zendesk integration, and accessibility improvements raising the score from 72% to 82%.

Activate ERP
Mobile-first Entrprise Resource Planning system for retail and distribution ranging from goods receiving, stocktaking, inventory, picking, and transfers. I architected and built the frontend layer from scratch with a single codebase targeting both App Store and Google Play which has features such as biometric auth, camera for photo upload, geolocation as a verification, and secure storage.

Katie Jayne
Production-quality e-commerce storefront for a premium glassware brand. I built it with React, Next.js, and TypeScript which has features such as product catalogues, cart, checkout, Redux state management, Mailchimp integration, and Playwright end-to-end tests.

The Contour Atlas
A field guide to the twelve regions of the UK ranging from food, festivals, landmarks and live weather which is drawn as an Ordnance Survey sheet. A server-side producer polls Open-Meteo for all twelve regions in a single request every 60 seconds, filters out readings that haven't actually changed, and publishes them over Server-Sent Events to a station-style split-flap board. Streaming sits behind an EventBus interface, so moving to a Kafka-compatible broker swaps one file rather than reworking the app. Coastline, borders and pins all project from real coordinates through one shared function, and the whole thing runs without an API key.

iPhone Clone
Interactive clone of Apple's iPhone product page, built to master 3D rendering and scroll-driven animation. It has real-time device rotation with Three.js, fluid reveals with GSAP, and storytelling-led UI architecture.

Beauty & Spa Landing Page
Marketing landing page for a Singapore-based beauty clinic. I built it with clean HTML, CSS and javascript which features Mobile-first development, with jQuery-powered sliders, smooth scroll, and consultation journey.

05 / Method
Six principles, applied from first commit to production rollout.
How I work.
Event-Driven by Default
I design systems around events and async messaging using NATS, Kafka, Websocket and Azure Service Bus which keep services decoupled, resilient, and independently deployable.
Observability First
Every production system I ship includes structured logging (Seq), metrics (Prometheus or Grafana), and dashboards from day one. If you can't observe it, you can't own it.
Ship Safely
Feature flags (LaunchDarkly), A/B tests, and staged rollouts let me push to production continuously without big-bang releases or late-night rollbacks.
Test at Every Layer
Unit, integration, contract, and E2E tests using frameworks such as xUnit, Flutter Test, Vitest, Jest, Cypress and Playwright. Good test coverage enables confident refactoring and fast PR reviews.
Reusable Architecture
I build shared packages and clean domain boundaries that other teams can adopt. At Greggs, my order-sharing and loyalty packages were picked up by POS team.
Accessibility & Performance
Every UI I build starts from semantic HTML and ARIA standards. I measure Core Web Vitals from the start (not as an afterthought) and treat accessibility as a first-class requirement.
